Bruce and Deb met in the depths of Covid 19, in June 2020. Their in-person meeting had to be delayed because Aruba had just reopened its doors to tourism and Deb was in desperate need to get away to her favorite island with her daughter Mina and other family members (while Bruce escaped to Block Island with his daughter Anna).

Their first in-person meeting was at a restaurant located in Battery Park City where Deb lived at the time. They sat across from each other, six feet apart at first, not wanting to take chances with catching the virus. They had cocktails and hors d’œuvres, chatted and laughed. The law of attraction was at work.

From their first encounter Deb was impressed, she thought he was mild mannered, friendly, charming and most of all a great dad. Bruce had a similar impression, Deb was happy, serene and her spiritual depth was obvious. She was also a caring and loving mom.

The timing looked good on both ends! Both daughters were young adults: Mina had graduated from college the previous year and living with roommates while Anna had just graduated from high school (with her senior year shortened by Covid) would be heading to college soon.

Over time, the two families have vacationed and travelled together as a blended family with Anna, Mina and their respective boyfriends. Birthdays, holidays and many other occasions were celebrated together as well.

On October 13, 2023 Bruce asked Deb to be his wife and she was thrilled to say "yes".

On October 12, 2024, they will exchange their wedding vows and their love affair will continue to blossom!
